I seriously feel like Daniel Kaluuya’s character
Myself and many others are currently lost in the sunken place. The Bucs lost in the Meadowlands on Sunday. It was the New York Giants’ first home win of the season. That sentence right there should tell how this week’s grades are going to shape out. OffenseAs has been the case all year Kwon Alexander Jersey , the offense was extremely inconsistent early on in the game. Turnovers put the Bucs in a hole and the offense had to rally furiously behind Jameis Winston in order to stage a comeback. Yep, it was Winston who was on the field as the clock ran out the final seconds of the game. Not Ryan Fitzpatrick. Poor play from the Bearded Wonder led to his second benching of the season. Entering halftime, the Bucs were down just 14-7. Fitzpatrick had already thrown one interception at this point and was very inconsistent, but the team was still in the game. That all changed as soon as the Bucs received the ball to start the second half. It took just two passes from Fitzpatrick before the defense was able to nab their second pick of the game. This time, it went the other direction for six points. Nothing changed on the next drive. Under heavy pressure, Fitzpatrick just lobbed one up into the end zone that was picked off. The turnovers doomed the Buccaneers, again. It wiped out a very good performance from Winston off the bench, a great game by Mike Evans, and another good performance from Peyton Barber. If it just weren’t for the damn turnovers. Tampa Bay finished 6/9 on third down, recorded 31 first downs, and went 4/5 in the red zone which included a 4/4 line in goal-to-go situations. But you can’t keep making the same mistakes and expect everyone to just ignore them. Final Grade: 1.0 (D) DefenseJust like the offensive side of the ball Cheap Jameis Winston Jersey , it’s the same old story with the defense. A terrible first quarter combined with no offensive help gave the Giants an early 14-0 lead. They finished with a season-high 139 yards in the first quarter. Eli Manning completed 11 straight passes at one point. Saquon Barkley couldn’t be stopped. The unit did find some footing in the second quarter despite giving up an early touchdown. Carl Nassib and Jason Pierre-Paul combined for a big sack that was a big momentum killer. The team finished with four sacks on the day, so the Bucs were able to get pressure, but the defense just couldn’t hold up for the entirety of the game. Two late touchdowns in the fourth quarter put the final nail in the coffin. The Bucs gave up an average of 6.8 yards per play, 5.3 yards per rush, and 359 total yards of offense - not to mention 31 points. Final Grade: 1.5 (D)Special TeamsHoly Cairo Santos! No missed extra points! The new Buccaneer didn’t get a chance to attempt a field goal, but that’s ok because the team was scoring touchdowns. I’ll take that excuse all day. The only issue with Santos was the fact that he couldn’t put the ball through the end zone on kickoffs which led to some decent returns by the Giants. Regardless, outside of Santos, the special teams didn’t see much action. Bryan Anger punted the ball just once all day. The coverage teams played well and didn’t allow many big plays despite being put in troublesome situations on the kickoff returns. Final Grade: 3.0 (B) CoachingI hate to say this, because I like Dirk Koetter as a person. This staff cannot be in Tampa Bay in 2019. There have been two common threads all season - turnovers and bad defense - and nothing has improved in either area. This is a coaching problem. No other way around it. Mark Duffner is doing what he can and at times he has looked very competent, but he hasn’t done enough to save his job next year, eitherThe only two that should be given consideration to stick around are Todd Monken and Brentson Buckner. Outside of them Ryan Fitzpatrick Jersey , expect major turnover at the top in 2019. Final Grade: 0.0 (F) Overall Grade: 1.38 (D) The one good thing about this crappy season is that it is in fact making me a better writer. It’s tough to write about the same dumb mistakes every week and make it feel fresh. That’s the only good thing to come out of this season. Overall Grade For The 2018 Season: 1.93 (D) The Buccaneers are 3-7 and officially headed nowhere in 2018. They have lost two consecutive games against beatable teams to extend their overall losing streak to four games. The 2-8 49ers enter Raymond James Stadium this Sunday to present Tampa Bay with another winnable game, though wins will likely mean very little in terms of the franchise’s general future. The coaching staff is likely gone at the end of the season regardless. Despite that, pride is still on the line this Sunday. The franchise’s record book also includes some figures that could be on the line during Sunday’s game. Let’s check in and see where things stand for some of Tampa Bay’s players heading into a home matchup with San Francisco. Career Receptions Mike Evans is up to 365 receptions in his career, which leaves him 66 away from taking the franchise record from James Wilder (430).Career Passing YardsJameis Winston relieved Ryan Fitzpatrick in last week’s loss to the Giants and passed Trent Dilfer (12,969) for third-most passing yards in team history. With 13,016, he needs 519 more to pass Josh Freeman (13,534) for second.Career Passing TouchdownsWith two passing touchdowns against the Giants, Winston tied Vinny Testaverde (77) for second-most in franchise history. He takes sole possession of second with one more on Sunday. With four more, he can take the franchise record from Josh Freeman (80).Career CompletionsAt 1,047 Cheap Carlton Davis Jersey , Winston has the fourth-most completions among Buccaneer quarterbacks. He needs 71 more to pass Trent Dilfer (1,117) for third. Career Passing AttemptsWinston has attempted 1,708 passes in his career, which has him fifth all-time. He passes Doug Williams (1,890) for fourth with 183 more.Career Rushing TouchdownsWinston’s nine rushing touchdowns have him 14th in franchise history. With two more, he passes Michael Pittman (10) for 13th.Peyton Barber is up to six rushing scores in his Buccaneer career, which ties him for 16th. With two more, he ties James Owens for 15th.Jacquizz Rodgers is tied for 29th all-time with three rushing touchdowns. He needs one more to pull into a 26th-place tie. Career TacklesLavonte David is out again this week, so he once again won’t get a chance to build on his 603 tackles as a Buccaneer. He is still 78 away from passing Hardy Nickerson (680) for third all-time.Gerald McCoy is up to 210 career tackles, placing him in 23rd. With three more, he passes Tanard Jackson (212) for 22nd.Career SacksMcCoy has 52 1鈦? sacks in his Tampa Bay career. He needs 17 1鈦? more to pass Simeon Rice (69 1/2) for second.Career Passes Defended Brent Grimes has 38 passes defended during his time with the Bucs. He needs five more to pass John Lynch (42) for sixth in team history.Career Games PlayedSunday will be Gerald McCoy’s 118th game with the Bucs Cheap Chris Godwin Jersey , which ties him with Randy Grimes for 17th.Demar Dotson will be playing in his 111th game with Tampa Bay, which ties him with Cecil Johnson for 24th. Single-Season Receiving YardsMike Evans has 957 receiving yards this year. He needs to average about 78 yards per game over the final six games to break the single-season franchise record. Mark Carrier’s 1,422 yards in 1989 is the current record.Single-Season Receiving TouchdownsEvans is the closest of Tampa Bay’s receivers to breaking his own record of 12 touchdown catches in a season, which he did in both 2014 and 2016. He sits at five right now, while DeSean Jackson and Chris Godwin both have four.Single-Season Passing TouchdownsNow that he is back on the bench, Ryan Fitzpatrick might not have a chance to break thesingle-season record for passing touchdowns. The current number to beat is 28, which Jameis Winston had in 2016.Single-Season SacksWith 1 1鈦? sacks last week, Jason Pierre-Paul is up to 9 1鈦? this season. He is 7 1鈦? away from beating Warren Sapp’s record of 16 1/2, which he set in 2000.Single-Season Total Yards (Team)The Tampa Bay offense is at 4,585 total yards for the season. To beat the record of 6,014 Bryan Anger Jersey , which was set in 2015, it needs to average around 238 yards per game in the last six games. Single-Season Passing Yards (Team)Jameis Winston and Ryan Fitzpatrick have combined for 3,610 passing yards this season. Regardless of who plays quarterback the rest of the season, the single-season record for passing yards could fall. The current number to beat is 4,366, which was set in 2017. The Bucs need to average just over 126 passing yards per game the rest of the way to set a new franchise record.
